Hi, I'm really glad you've decided to join Wikipedia. Could you please specify what your source is for Image:Pacific santacruz ca.jpg? Please use one of the tags at Wikipedia:Template messages/Image namespace to specify whether you took the picture yourself yourself, and, if so, how you would like to license it (for example, as public domain or under the GNU Free Documentation License). For more information, see Wikipedia:Images. Thanks! sɪzlæk [ +t, +c ] 23:50, Apr 28, 2005 (UTC)
Thank you! I've set it to FairUse. The picture was taken by my friend, and she gave me permission to publish it on Wikipedia. The person depicted was on May 7, 2005 informed by me about his picture posted on wikipedia, and was glad to hear it (I have a witness to this.) Hope this covers all issues.
- I'm afraid it doesn't. Since it's obviously possible to create free licensed photos of the place it can not be used under "fair use" per out Fair use criterea and permission to use on Wikipedia alone is not a free license. Please ask your friend to release the photo under a free content license (must explicitly allow redistribution, modifications and even potential commercial use), otherwise we unfortunately have to delete it and wait for someone to provide a truly free licensed photo. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 11:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
I see. Let's switch it to free content license. I've no clue what exactly I should do. I asked her, and I am sure she'll answer by tomorrow - but what next? Is there a tag or something I should change? -Vlad, 11/25/2006

Proposed deletion of Pacific Avenue
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pacific Avenue, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. — X S G 05:05, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Pacific Avenue
[edit]I have nominated Pacific Avenue, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pacific Avenue. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. — X S G 22:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC) — X S G 22:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Shturmovshchina may have broken the syntax by modifying 3 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for December 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Polymorphism (computer science), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page See also. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Borland Enterprise Server has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (software) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of people who disappeared mysteriously, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Abkhaz (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Important Notice
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]File permission problem with File:Pacific santacruz ca.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pacific santacruz ca.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. HouseBlastertalk 01:43, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
